Development & Donor Relations Manager
Kerri Dowling joined zero8hundred as the Development and Donor Relations Manager in May 2018. A native of Northport, New York, Kerri is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Government and Politics. Kerri started her career in management, but her career was interrupted due to her spouse’s military relocations. Since 1992, Kerri has worked and volunteered in the non-profit sector supporting military service members and their families. Kerri has held many fundraising and leadership positions including Head Buyer for the Sand Dollar Too, a non-profit gift shop run by the Naval Officers’ Spouses Club of San Diego and has organized numerous fundraising events. In 2013, Kerri became the Membership Director for the Naval Helicopter Association where she increased overall membership and assisted with the annual symposiums. Kerri left that position to support her spouse's move to Sasebo, Japan. Never one to be idle, Kerri worked as an English Instructor for a local language school and taught cooking classes to local Japanese over their two year tour. Since arriving back in San Diego in 2016, Kerri has volunteered with the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society as a Client Services Assistant and a Budget for Baby Instructor. In addition, she volunteered with Support The Enlisted Project as a Grant Researcher.
Kerri is married to CAPT Mike Dowling, an active duty Naval helicopter pilot and she has been a military spouse for the past 26 years. During that time, she has raised two wonderful children and experienced 14 military moves. Kerri and her husband now call San Diego home and hope to remain here following his transition. Kerri has been a volunteer, a leader, an advisor, a mentor, and a Mom during her years as a military spouse. Her positive attitude and knowledge of military programs is impressive -- she truly loves helping military families and looks forward to continuing to serve as a member of the zero8hundred team.
